My career started with eight years learning the direct marketing and mail order disciplines in the rigorous environment of Readers Digest.
This was followed by a 2-year period at Ogilvy & Mather Direct as their Direct Marketing Consultant before starting K&B Direct – a specialist interactive and direct advertising agency.
Managing K&B Direct for 25 years, I worked with many blue-chip clients such as Old Mutual, Clicks, RCS, Direct Axis, Southern Sun, amongst others, across retail, financial and NGO industries.
My role was to interpret client objectives, provide marketing and advertising solutions, and implement large scale campaigns and projects with my client service team. The Clicks ClubCard Loyalty Programme was an anchor client for 20+ years so I have a thorough knowledge of loyalty and direct marketing programmes.
Leading a client service team in an advertising agency environment honed my skills in service excellence, teamwork, good communication, and meeting deadlines. I work well with creative people and can critically assess and guide creative work and process.
